With our support, in 2015 the Young Women’s Project drove the process of revision of the Washington, D.C. State Learning Standards for Health Education on sexual health, mental health, and violence. In partnership with young people from across Washington, D.C., the Young Women’s Project submitted a draft of health standards to the Office of the State Superintendent of Education that mandates high-quality health education, including sex education, from K-12, which will shape educational instruction in local schools.
