Center for Innovative Research on Gender Health Equity (CONVERGE @ Pitt)
The Center for Innovative Research on Gender Health Equity (also known as CONVERGE @ Pitt) is a multidisciplinary community of scholars who conduct and translate research focused on sex- and gender-related health across the lifespan and sexual and reproductive health outcomes, with particular attention to marginalized populations.
NIRH partnered with CONVERGE @ Pitt to ensure high-quality, equitable, accessible, and person-centered contraceptive care for all Pennsylvanians. Their multi-faceted approach included engaging in relationship building and administrative advocacy for pharmacist prescribing of contraception, 12-month dispensing of contraception, and addressing systems-level barriers to full contraceptive access, specifically the need for confidential reproductive health care.
