University of Michigan Program on Women’s Healthcare Effectiveness Research

In 2018, with support from NIRH, the Program on Women’s Healthcare Effectiveness Research (PWHER) at the University of Michigan used their research expertise to evaluate the economic impact to commercial payers and to hospitals for providing access to immediate postpartum LARC, addressing a known barrier to provision of this evidence-based postpartum care. Their results formed the basis for published papers and other resources that can be used in advocacy with private insurance companies for the improvement of postpartum LARC reimbursement.
