Abortion Should Not Result in Jail Time

The Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade and anti-abortion politicians have wasted no time to use this as an opportunity to criminalize abortion care. NIRH is committed to fighting these attacks on the state and local level.

Join Us. A different reality is possible.

Some states are already targeting pregnant people, even threatening those seeking abortion care with criminal charges. Even supporting a loved one or helping a friend get safe, effective, FDA-approved medication to self-manage an abortion could lead to arrest or even jail time.

Because of the racial double standard in our legal and health care systems, the risk of criminalization is even higher for Black and brown people, immigrants, and other marginalized communities.

The opposition’s goal is clear: stop abortion no matter what it takes.

But we can stop them – with your help.
