Take Action: Make New York a Leader in Abortion Access

Governor Cuomo has introduced regulations that require New York insurers to cover abortion care with no copay. This is a groundbreaking move and has the power to make New York’s insurance regulations as strong and protective of abortion access as possible – which is critical in light of the federal government’s hostility to abortion access and coverage.
However, as they stand, the New York regulations are not as strong as they could and should be. They include language that allows employers to discriminate based on gender when providing insurance benefits.
