The National Institute for Reproductive Health (NIRH) and the National Institute for Reproductive Health Action Fund (NIRH Action Fund), advocacy groups that fight for just and equitable access to reproductive health care, are seeking a full-time Development Associate to ensure the efficient day-to-day operations of the Development team.
This is a benefits eligible, full-time non-exempt position that will require 35 hours of work, with flexibility, during normal business hours, Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM EST. The salary range for this position is $64,000 to $68,000, commensurate with experience.
THE ROLE
The Development Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient day-to-day operations of the Development team at NIRH. This position supports the Vice President of Development and works collaboratively across internal departments—including Finance and Communications—to promote alignment and enhance donor stewardship and the donor experience. The Development Associate is responsible for managing the donor CRM system, streamlining processes, preparing reports for senior leadership, and helping to create a seamless, donor-centered experience.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Serve as the primary administrator for organizations donor CRM’s; act as the main liaison with CRM client contact and oversee all database operations, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of gift processing workflows, data capture structures, and business rules.
- Develop and maintain custom queries, dashboards, and reports for the Development team and President; track moves management and ensure timely, accurate entry of donor interactions.
- Manage the full gift processing cycle, including prompt generation of acknowledgment letters and tax receipts.
- Reconcile donations and pledge data with the Finance department on a regular basis.
- Support donor communication efforts by preparing and segmenting mailing and email lists for appeals, updates, and other outreach campaigns.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for cultivation and fundraising events.
- Help foster a collaborative team environment grounded in racial equity, inclusion, and mutual support.
- This role will serve as backup for the Development Relations Associate as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
- Minimum of three years of relevant development and/or data management experience.
- Robust experience with a donor or fundraising centric CRM, including the ability to create and execute complex reports and data utilization.
- Knowledge of solicitation strategy and familiarity with moves management.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to interact with donors in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of core reproductive rights issues preferred.
- Professional discretion and confidentiality.
- Excellent creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Ability to work independently, while also collaborating in a team setting.
- Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written formats
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- This position works fully remote and may require travel to NIRH HQ in NYC.
