In the wake of the Dobbs decision, Montana currently serves as the only accessible abortion point for residents of illegal, neighboring states. Thus, Montana has the incredible opportunity to elevate themselves as champions of choice. NIRH is partnering with Blue Mountain Clinic located in Missoula, Montana to increase city funding for abortions and gender affirming care while building a roadmap to expand reproductive access statewide. Blue Mountain Clinic strives to be a medical home for LGBTQ+ and gender expansive patients, Indigenous communities, and multi-generational families. To better serve their community members and patients, Blue Mountain Clinic and NIRH will develop a Local Reproductive Freedom Index scorecard for Missoula and document the initiative as a blueprint for future statewide use.
