Center for Women’s Health Research and Innovation at the University of Pittsburgh

The Center for Women’s Health Research and Innovation at the University of Pittsburgh (CWHRI) is a multidisciplinary community of scholars who conduct and translate research focused on sex- and gender-related health across the lifespan and sexual and reproductive health outcomes, with particular attention to marginalized populations.

NIRH is partnering with CWHRI to ensure high-quality, equitable, accessible, and person-centered contraceptive care for all Pennsylvanians. Their multi-faceted approach includes administrative advocacy for pharmacist prescribing of contraception, implementation of existing regulations recommending 12-month dispensing of contraception, and working with both providers and payers to address systems-level barriers to full contraceptive access such as confidential care and private payer coverage of key services.
