Pro-Choice Connecticut

NIRH has worked with Pro-Choice Connecticut (formerly NARAL Pro-Choice Connecticut), for many years. , dating back to 2006, when we worked together to advocate for increased access to emergency contraception.

Recently we worked with Pro-Choice Connecticut in collaboration with Hartford GYN Center and Health Equity Solutions to advance and secure reproductive freedom across Connecticut. In 2021, Pro-Choice Connecticut led the charge to pass SB835, legislation to protect against the deceptive advertising practices of anti-abortion pregnancy centers. NIRH worked with Pro-Choice Connecticut since 2017 to draft and finally pass this bill. Momentum to regulate anti-abortion pregnancy centers in the the state began in 2017 when NIRH worked with Pro-Choice Connecticut and Hartford GYN to pass a local ordinance in Hartford to regulate the especially dangerous and deceptive practices of anti-abortion pregnancy centers in the city.
