From 2018-2020, NIRH partnered with CityMatCH to lead the Well Women, Well Communities Project addressing systemic barriers to high-quality preventative care. The Washtenaw County Well Woman Coalition brought together advocacy organizations and community members to form a community advisory boards (CAB) with the goal of fostering stronger relationships and tailoring health initiatives to residents’ needs and interests. The CAB collaborated to identify one upstream and one downstream barrier to well woman care and then creating and implementing solutions to each. NIRH provided CityMatCH partners with expertise on local policy related to reproductive health, rights, and justice, and in community organizing and engagement in support of the identified initiatives.
