New Voices for Reproductive Justice is dedicated to transforming society for the holistic health and wellbeing of Black women, girls and gender expansive people, nationally and in Pennsylvania and Ohio. They help dismantle patriarchal anti-Blackness using the tools community organizing, leadership development, and voter engagement.
In 2010, NIRH worked with New Voices to host a Policymaker Leadership Institute to introduce local elected officials to the reproductive justice framework and to discuss the reproductive health of incarcerated women in county jails, later helping to secure passage of a statewide anti-shackling bill. In 2013, NIRH worked with New Voices for Reproductive Justice to incorporate a reproductive justice framework and include the voices of people of color into the Pennsylvanians for Choice Coalition. They also held a Reproductive Justice Allies Training and created a Diversity Committee.
