NIRH worked with Women with a Vision to use their community mobilization model to convene Black women leaders in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, New Orleans, and Shreveport for a series of four community-focused Reproductive Justice Roundtables. Drawing on the conversations and brainstorming that took place at these events, Women with a Vision planned and hosted a statewide Roundtable Convening. There, participants collaborated to develop a reproductive justice policy agenda that included recommendations for actions to address some of the greatest reproductive health issues facing Black women in Louisiana. Following the Convening, community advocates and leaders brought their agenda and lessons learned back to their communities to continue to push for both local- and state-level change.
