Black Doula Project

The Black Doula Project, a fund that subsidizes doula costs for Black families in the Baltimore and D.C. area, was founded by two Black women doulas with the objective of improving maternal health education by and for pregnant Black people.

NIRH is supporting The Black Doula Project in developing new internal communications strategies and creating an informative series to educate wider audiences of pregnant people, healthcare providers, and other community members who have a stake in combatting Black maternal mortality and supporting Black families welcoming newborns.
