California Family Health Council (CFHC) is now Essential Access Health, a non-profit organization that champions and promotes quality sexual and reproductive health care for all.
In 2016, NIRH partnered with CFHC and California Latinas for Reproductive Justice (CLRJ) to successfully pass the Direct Access to Reproductive Health Act (AB 1954), which allows patients to seek sexual and reproductive health care services, including abortion, from a variety of different types of health care providers, without a referral, ensuring needed care can be accessed in a timely manner.
