El Pueblo  

El Pueblo’s central mission is to work at the intersection of immigrant and reproductive justice by prioritizing the voices of Latinx people in North Carolina. As a foundation, El Pueblo is cemented on the belief that the Latinx identity is not a monolith – they a diverse community made of many different national origins, political beliefs, and immigration statuses. El Pueblo functions as a crucial Latinx organization within multiple social justice-centered coalitions as well as the North Carolina General Assembly. For this grant cycle, NIRH will assist El Pueblo in its goals of training a core base of community leaders within the immigration and RJ space, increasing their media coverage and knowledge, and amplifying the political presence of Latinx people in North Carolina.
