Kentucky Health Justice Network (KHJN) builds the power of Kentuckians to achieve reproductive justice. We support this mission through direct support, education and outreach.

NIRH partnered with KHJN over several years to finally establish a safety zone protecting abortion clinics in Louisville.

The only abortion clinics in Kentucky are in Louisville, and they attract anti-abortion protestors from across the region, threatening safety and access to the clinics.

The Louisville Safety Zone was a long-fought battle that succeeded in 2021!

Together, NIRH and KHJN built power through grassroots and intersectional organizing, elected official education, and media support. Together, we approached this problem from the perspective that persistent police violence in communities across the country and particularly in Louisville endangers our communities, balances with the notion that safety at abortion clinics is a matter of community care,
