In 2009, Planned Parenthood of the Texas Capital Region hosted the Austin Leadership Forum on Healthy Teens, bringing together leadership-level staff from local nonprofits, the City of Austin, Travis County, and the Austin Independent School District to examine local teen pregnancy and STI rates. The Forum resulted in the integration of benchmarks measuring teen pregnancy and STI rates into existing community initiatives.
