Gender Justice is an organization that fights for gender equity by dismantling barriers and expanding protections so that all people can thrive regardless of their gender, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
While support for abortion access is generally high among Minnesotans, most are unaware of the many legal, financial, and logistical barriers that exist in the state. In 2020, NIRH partnered with Gender Justice, a legal and policy advocacy organization dedicated to advancing gender equity through the law, to conduct a series of trainings with local policymakers and community leaders in cities that are home to abortion clinics: Duluth, Minneapolis, and St. Paul. The goal of these trainings was to identify community-based solutions that will increase access to abortion and work with local leaders to move them forward. This project involved collaboration with All* Above All.
