Funding for Abortion Care Cost has always been one of the greatest barriers to equitable access to abortion care, even before the Supreme Court overturned Roe. NIRH is working to ensure that states and cities are prioritizing abortion access by funding care for all those who need it.
Funding New York’s Abortion Care and Infrastructure In 2022, NIRH teamed up with New York Governor Kathy Hochul to create a $35M investment to directly support New York abortion providers in anticipation of Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade. Andrea Miller, President of NIRH, called this initiative a “down payment” on the necessary response to Roe being overturned.
Oregon Commits $15M to Abortion Infrastructure NIRH worked with Oregon advocates to achieve this state level funding for abortion care, following our successful campaign to achieve Portland city funding for abortion care.
